We’re celebrating Cake Lace’s 6th birthday this week, and to inspire you to make the most of the offers available, we wanted to share a throwback to this fabulous Snake Cake!
Genius cake artist Ben Cullen, aka The Bake King, took the Snakeskin Cake Lace Mat to a whole other level. Ben starts by producing his cake lace as your normally would; firstly producing the mixture and applying to the mat before baking. You can see the full process in the video below.
With the edible lace complete, Ben applies this over his snake shaped cake, then airbrushes over the lace with Spectrum Flow’s Matt Latte. The process is then repeated with Pearl Toffee Fudge to add some darker shades, before finishing off the shadows and darkest areas with Water Based Chocolate Brown.
After spraying with all the airbrush colours, the edible lace is removed, and the entire cake is finished off with a coating of Spectrum Flow’s Shell and Shine to produce a realistic glossy effect. See the full process in the video below!
