Decorate a range of weird and wonderful cakes with help from this Halloween issue of Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft Magazine.
With October’s edition of Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft Magazine you’ll get a whole host of scarily good ideas for autumn and Halloween cakes.
Lisa Elliott’s ‘Witch in Flight’ is this issue’s cover cake; a tall tier cake featuring a spooky night scene, complete with bats pumpkins and topped off with a smiling witch figure. In this tutorial you can learn how bold colours can really bring your cake to life and gain some essential skills when modelling novelty cake toppers that you can transfer to almost any figure you wish to make.
For those looking for ideas on using rich autumn colours, Hannah Collison’s ‘Autumn Glory’ cake is the perfect inspiration. With a combination of nuts, berries and foliage, this tutorial takes you through how to create decadent, autumn floral arrangements and texture your cakes for an authentic look and finish.
If you are a beginner but still want to make something to really impress your guests, try Karen Keaney’s ‘Poison Bottle’ or Emma Burrows’ ‘Grumpy Pumpkin’ novelty cakes. Whilst the former is a little trickier, it is perfect for those looking to try something a little more adventurous when shaping their cakes, whilst the ‘Grumpy Pumpkin’ shows just what you can do without having to carve your cake, just using a simple bundt tin.
For something a little different, there is also a delectable recipe for spiced gingerbread with lemon glaze, great for parties, bake sales or a simple treat for the kids.
As well as all this you will get the all the gossip on the upcoming cake shows as well as updates and new products from all your favourite brands including Rainbow Dust, Patchwork Cutters and THE SUGAR PASTE.
