This issue’s cover cake comes courtesy of Marc Suarez of Le Doux Collage and features a whole host of different elements to make a glorious, multi-tiered spring cake. With spring flowers, hand painted messages and much more besides, recreating this cake will help hone a whole range of your decorating skills.
If you’re looking for a unique take on a classic spring cake, why not try Jenna Rowans’s ‘Checkered Spring Cake’. With a tall tier of check patterned sugarpaste, topped with a gorgeous spring bouquet, this is a cake that you can adjust to suit your own style that is sure to wow your guests.
For something a little different, Judit Horvath of Judit Bakes offers up her decorative egg cake alongside additional cupcakes. Here you can learn how to shape your cake, recreate the artistic designs adorning the cake and match the theme with the additional cupcakes.
In this month’s ‘Elevenses’ section, Natali Kishkovich is on hand to answer your most pressing questions. From using veiners, to softening sugarpaste to choosing the correct flowers, Natali offers valuable advice that could help you with your own cake projects.
Along with all of this you’ll also get the usual book and tutorial reviews, competitions, giveaways and info on all the new products to make your baking life that little bit easier this spring.
