Confectionery Arts' Tylose Powder has been specially formulated to resist humidity and improve pliability and elasticity in gumpaste.
This product can be used in place of Gum Tragacanth in gumpaste in the exact same proportions, and provide a gumpaste that is pure white in color and easier to work with.
Not only does it thicken sugarpaste for increased workability, it also improves freeze and thaw stability. This ensures a low bacteria count and a longer shelf life to similar products on the market. It also works as a great emulsifier, helping fat to distribute fat uniformly and prevent it from migrating to the surface.
With this powder, you can also transform sugarpaste to gumpaste by add 1-2 teaspoons to 1kg of fondant. See attached a fabulous example of sugar flowers created by Mish Patterson. It even makes a great edible liquid glue to be used for attaching decorations to your cakes.

Tylose Gum Paste Recipe:
4 Large Egg Whites
2 Lb. Confectioners' Sugar
4 Tablespoons CAI Tylose Powder™
4 Teaspoons Shortening
1. Make royal icing by whipping the egg whites & adding confectioners' sugar gradually at medium speed. Beat 2-3 minutes until soft peaks.
2. While mixing, add the Tylose Powder™ slowly until mixture becomes thick.
3. Scrape out the mixture on a work surface & knead the shortening into smooth consistency.
4. Wrap gum paste in plastic wrap & place in a zip lock bag. Keep refrigerated.
5. Allow the gum paste to come to room temperature before use.

Next Working Day Delivery (UK)
Any order placed before 4pm (3:30pm for edible images) Monday - Friday, with the Next Working Day Delivery option selected, will be dispatched for delivery the following business day (Monday - Friday), between the hours of 8am - 9pm. A signature is required for this method, so you will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. Please allow an additional 24 hours for any order to be delivered to the Scottish Highlands. Please also be aware that any deliveries to Northern Ireland with a 'BT' postcode will usually take three days to arrive (on 2 Day Northern Ireland Delivery).
Any order containing a product that is listed as a preorder, will be held until the preordered item has arrived in stock. Orders containing a preorder cannot be split, if other items are needed before the expected delivery date, these items should be ordered separately.
Weekend Deliveries (UK)
Any order placed before 4pm* on Friday, with the "Saturday Delivery" or "Sunday Delivery" option selected, will be dispatched on the same day for delivery between the hours of 8am - 6pm on the selected day. A signature is required for this method, so somebody will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. If the order is placed after the 4pm cut-off on a Friday, the order will be dispatched for delivery on the following weekend.
Please note we are unable to guarantee any order being dispatched to the Scottish Highlands or Islands to arrive within the quoted time frame.
