In this tutorial you will learn how easy and fun it is to make your own chocolate covered Oreos using our Cookie Moulds, as displayed in the images on your left.
Supplies You Will Need
- Mini Mould
- Chocolate or Candy Wafers
- Oreo Cookies
- White Chocolate
- Oil Based Candy Colorant
- Coloured Candy Wafers
- Decorator Brush
- Silicone Spatula
Melt the Chocolate
Microwave oven: Place coarsely chopped chocolate or candy wafers into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 1 minute, then stir well. Continue to microwave for 15 to 30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth.
Double boiler: Place coarsely chopped chocolate or candy wafers in the double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. Stir until smooth.
Please note, for best results, do not overheat the chocolate, and avoid introducing moisture. Both these conditions will ruin the chocolate.
Paint the Designs (optional)
Use your chocolate as is, or colour it using oil based candy colourants (do not use water based colorants) or coloured candy wafers.
Using a decorator brush, dab the chocolate into the mould designs. After filling each design, tap the mould onto the table to settle the chocolate, and remove any trapped air.
Tip: If you are making a large amount of chocolate covered Oreos at once, you may want to substitute the decorator brush with a squeeze bottle, or cake decorator, to facilitate filling the mould designs.
Partially Fill the mould
Fill the chocolate into the mould cavities, approximately 1/3 full. Tap the mould onto the table to settle the chocolate, and remove any trapped air.
Tip: If you've painted the designs, avoid remelting them by filling the cavities with chocolate that's as cool as possible, and tap the mould very gently as this can also cause the colours to bleed together.
Embed the Oreo Cookie
Press the Oreo cookie into the chocolate, and center it in the mould cavity, horizontally and vertically.
As you press the Oreo into the mould cavity, the chocolate will rise up around the sides, embedding the cookie, and leaving only the top uncovered.
Top Off the Mould
Pour the chocolate over the embedded Oreo, completely filling the mould and covering the cookie.
Gently tap the mould onto the table to settle the chocolate, and remove any trapped air.
Level the Chocolate
If necessary, level the chocolate by scraping away the excess with a silicone spatula.
Unmold Your Chocolate Covered Oreos
After the chocolate has hardened, chill the mould in the refrigerator for approximately 10 minutes. Turn the mould upside down and press on the back of the cavity to release the chocolate covered Oreos.

Next Working Day Delivery (UK)
Any order placed before 4pm (3:30pm for edible images) Monday - Friday, with the Next Working Day Delivery option selected, will be dispatched for delivery the following business day (Monday - Friday), between the hours of 8am - 9pm. A signature is required for this method, so you will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. Please allow an additional 24 hours for any order to be delivered to the Scottish Highlands.
If delivery cannot be made, DPD will try again on the next working day. If this is unsuccessful, it will be held at the depot for an additional 5 working days. After this, the parcel will be returned to us, at a surcharge of £5.
Please Note: None of our services are a guaranteed service. DPD have a 98% success rate on next day deliveries.
Any order containing a product that is listed as a preorder, will be held until the preordered item has arrived in stock. Orders containing a preorder cannot be split, if other items are needed before the expected delivery date, these items should be ordered separately.
Weekend Deliveries (UK)
Any order placed before 4pm* on Friday, with the "Saturday Delivery" or "Sunday Delivery" option selected, will be dispatched on the same day for delivery between the hours of 8am - 6pm on the selected day. A signature is required for this method, so somebody will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. If the order is placed after the 4pm cut-off on a Friday, the order will be dispatched for delivery on the following weekend.
Please note we are unable to guarantee any order being dispatched to the Scottish Highlands to arrive within the quoted time frame.
