Dawn Parrott brings you this innovative, hard maple turntable to take all of the hard work out of decorating your cake.
This high quality turntable is made from the finest wood, cut especially to create this unique decorating aid. Complete with powder coated metal bolts to tilt the turntable and secure your cake board firmly in place, there is arguably no better turntable on the market.
The turntable can hold cakes between the sizes of 3” and 16” and is a simple task of moving the bolts to ensure your cake sits snug whilst decorating. When the bolts are adjusted for larger cakes they stick out slightly from the turntable platform, which means you can also use the bolts to easily turn your cake whilst decorating, without accidentally touching the cake itself.
The turntable is able to be tilted at 3 different angles: 90 degrees, 45 degrees and 60 degrees. 90 degrees is your standard flat top, great for the usual decorations, string work and drops, but where this turntable excels is at the other angles. At 45 degrees you can easily pipe the edges of your cakes and at 60 degrees, it is the perfect angle for competition work, plaques and hand painting.
PLEASE NOTE: When tilting the turntable at 45 degrees, if using a real cake, you must ensure that it will not slide off your board and it is recommend to not use it at this angle with real cake for a long periods of time. It is also recommended not to use real cake at the 60 degree angle and only use it for plaques, dummies and competition work.
Another great feature of the turntable is that it is ergonomically designed, so can be used whilst sitting down, meaning you won’t be aching after hours of decorating. It also spins much more smoothly than other turntables, making it faster and easier to decorate your cake.
How to Care For Your Turntable
The turntable requires minimal effort to maintain. After use, simply wipe down the bolts and surface with a warm soapy cloth. To best maintain the wood, we would also recommend treating the wood with food safe mineral oil once it is nearly dry.
