Each hydrangea flower petal cavity of this Petalear measures approximately 3.3cm (1.3”) in diameter.

The entire Petalear measures approximately L: 20cm x W: 4.9cm (7.9” x 1.9”).

How to Use Petalears

You can use your Petalear with gumpaste, modelling chocolate and sugarpaste. The following is a loose guide, appropriate for sugarpaste/fondant.

Do not fill the mould to the top of the blade that rises up around the mould cavity. The mould should be filled to the top of the cavity which is level with the lip and the point where the blade starts to rise from the surface of the mould. People will naturally fill a mould to what they think is the top. If you fill to the top of the blade, the resulting piece will be too thick and not the way it was designed.

Put cornstarch (corn flour) in a nylon/musline stocking and tie shut to make what we call a pounce. Roll out fondant/sugarpaste to the appropriate thickness, dust lightly with corn flour and put the dusted side down onto the mould.

Press with the palm of your hand and use fingertips to force fondant into all the details. The blade will already start to cut the fondant. Take a light rolling pin and roll across the top of the mould.

Do not press hard; light, quick strokes work the best and enable the blade to perform perfectly! Once the fondant has been trimmed and the excess is taken away, press the fondant again real quick and then place your finger on the side of the blade and press it sideways towards the cavity, and down into the cavity. This removes any little bits of fondant flashing and makes a perfect edge.

The great quality silicone that Marvelous Moulds are known for is easy to bend whilst possessing high durability, so removing your petals will be a breeze each time.

Next Working Day Delivery (UK)

Any order placed before 4pm (3:30pm for edible images) Monday - Friday, with the Next Working Day Delivery option selected, will be dispatched for delivery the following business day (Monday - Friday), between the hours of 8am - 9pm. A signature is required for this method, so you will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. Please allow an additional 24 hours for any order to be delivered to the Scottish Highlands. 

If delivery cannot be made, DPD will try again on the next working day. If this is unsuccessful, it will be held at the depot for an additional 5 working days. After this, the parcel will be returned to us, at a surcharge of £5. 

Please Note: None of our services are a guaranteed service. DPD have a 98% success rate on next day deliveries. 

Pre-Orders

Any order containing a product that is listed as a preorder, will be held until the preordered item has arrived in stock. Orders containing a preorder cannot be split, if other items are needed before the expected delivery date, these items should be ordered separately.

Weekend Deliveries (UK)

Any order placed before 4pm* on Friday, with the "Saturday Delivery" or "Sunday Delivery" option selected, will be dispatched on the same day for delivery between the hours of 8am - 6pm on the selected day. A signature is required for this method, so somebody will need to be at the delivery address to sign for it. If the order is placed after the 4pm cut-off on a Friday, the order will be dispatched for delivery on the following weekend.

Please note we are unable to guarantee any order being dispatched to the Scottish Highlands to arrive within the quoted time frame.

*Orders for edible images have a cut-off time of 3:30pm – orders placed after this time will be dispatched for delivery the following weekend.
