Add authentic hair to your cake models quickly and easily using the Straight Hair and Braid Mould by Tal Tsafrir.
Getting a realistic texture for the hair on your cake figures can be tough, but this mould makes the whole process easy. No need for embossing or modelling tools, just push your modelling paste into the mould and turn out once dry. The mould features a straight hair design as well as 2 braid designs to help you customise your figures.
This makes the mould ideal for those new to decorating to get a leg up on the competition, but is also a useful time saver for the more experienced cake artist.
The mould can be used with a huge range of different decorating mediums including sugarpaste/fondant, modelling paste, modelling chocolate, marzipan, flower paste and a range of non-edible mediums.
The mould is made from durable, food grade silicone and designed by Tal Tsafrir, one of the world’s leading experts in creating sugarcraft figures, so you can rest assured that this mould is of the very best quality.
How to use:
Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to help stop any paste from sticking.
Make a small ball of modelling paste in your chosen colour and press it firmly into the mould, making sure that all relevant areas have been covered, and gently flatten with your finger.
Wait for your modelling paste to dry and then carefully remove from the mould. If you are having trouble removing the paste from the mould, try using a scriber tool to gently ease it out.
Glue on with a drop of water or edible glue.
Once you have the design turned out, you can decorate however you wish. You can use lustre or sparkle dusts to add shine and glitter or use edible paints and markers to add details or hand paint custom features.
Other body part moulds are also available to complete a full figure.
To clean the mould, hand wash in warm soapy water.
Body measures approximately:
Straight hair: 8cm x 3cm.
Braids: 10cm x 1cm
