The Wood Panel Mould by Katie Sue allows you to create authentic wooden textured panels, ideal for celebration and birthday cakes.
You could use the mould to create repeated wooden effects to border a cake tier or even use individual panels to decorate the tops of cupcakes.
To use with sugar paste, lightly dust the mould with cornflour, tapping out the excess. Place your rolled out piece of paste in the mould and using your fingers, lightly press into the mould. Using your rolling pin, roll over the paste to ensure it gets into the design. Turn the mould over and gently press out your paste. You will be left with a cool design embossed on your paste, ready to be placed on your cake or you can cut out elements for the top of cupcakes and cookies.
This mould can be used with a whole range of edible and non-edible mediums such as; sugarpaste fondant icing, chocolate, flower and modelling pastes, Isomalt, marzipan, Cocoform modelling chocolate, boiled sugar, FIMO, cold porcelain, claydough, air drying clays, soap, wax, etc.
Katy Sue Moulds are made from a high quality food grade silicone, approved for use in the EU and by the FDA for use in the USA.
The mould design measures approximately 10cm x 10cm.
Try using lustre dusts or a splash of edible paint to bring your creation to life! Mix lustre dust with alcohol or rejuvenator spirit to get a paint that leaves an amazing shine!
The font style is reminiscent of the signs found in western movies and looks great on plaques, especially if you have used a vintage wood mould to create it.
The Western Flexabet is ideal for country and western themed cakes, ‘Man Cakes’, cowboy cakes and anything with a vintage feel. The lettering also looks great when a gold or silver lustre is used to give it that metallic effect.
It’s not just vintage cakes however; the Western Flexabet looks great on more contemporary cakes too, adding a new dimension to something that otherwise might look a bit ordinary.
The best thing about this Flexabet however, is that there is no need to pipe. Piping this font would usually be tricky but with this Flexabet, no piping is required. To use the Flexabet, simply roll your fondant into the onlay, gently turn out the letters and add them to your cake. There’s no clicking, cutting or tapping, just flawless lettering for a range of different celebration cakes.
To customise your letters, try using different coloured fondant in the Flexabets or once your design has been turned out, dust them with lustre or sparkle dust for a glittering, shiny finish.
The Flexabet can be used with a huge range of different decorating mediums including: Sugarpaste/fondant, modelling paste, modelling chocolate, flower paste, royal icing, marzipan and much more besides.
All of the moulds in this collection are made with the highest quality, food grade silicone to produce an extremely durable silicone mould that is tear resistant and can withstand temperatures to 204degreesC (400degrees F)
Each letter measures approximately: 0.5” (1.75cm)
