We aim to raise £25,000 for charity each year to help make a real difference to those it supports. This is our foundation's first year, and our fundraising efforts will begin right away; please come back and check our progress to find out how we're getting on.
Charities We Support:
Rainbows Childrens Hospice - http://www.rainbows.co.uk:
Rainbows hospice for Children and Young People have been providing specialist respite, palliative and end of life care to children and young people with terminal illnesses and life shortening conditions since 1994.
With 14 beds and a minimum of 3 nurses on duty at all times, Rainbow’s team of highly qualified nurses and doctors deliver a friendly and personalised service to each child. The result is that Rainbows has become a comfortable and supportive environment with care and understanding at the heart of everything they do.
Based in Loughborough, Rainbows is the only hospice for children and young people in the East Midlands, and are renowned for their extraordinary work in offering support, reassurance and comfort to the families and friends of those who they help. Rainbow’s aim is that by working alongside loved ones, those children and young people who suffer from life shortening and terminal illnesses will receive the best form of emotional support in addition to Rainbow’s outstanding medical care.
Rainbow’s level of care extends beyond the hospice as well, with the Family Support Team regularly visiting families at home, keeping parents and loved ones informed and reassured on the wellbeing of their children.
But what matters the most to Rainbows is the happiness of the children and young people who they care for every day; laughing, playing and making every day a memorable one for those children is Rainbow’s primary concern. The dedicated and relentlessly understanding team of Rainbow staff are experienced in providing emotional support all day and every single day, so that the children can enjoy every moment and parents can rest easy that their children are in the best hands.

After a tragic blaze destroyed the Manchester Dogs Home in September 2014, the trust held various events to fund the extensive re-build needed to re-home the animals. We donated stock to fundraising events to help raise money to rebuild the Manchester Dogs Home.

The Nepal Earthquake Appeal - http://www.redcross.org.uk/NepalEarthquake
In April 2015 a devastating earthquake hit Nepal, killing thousands and leaving more homeless and in need of aid. We ran a charity raffle online and in-store to raise money to send to the British Red Cross for their Nepal Earthquake Appeal. With one-to-one classes with Dawn Butler of Dinkydoodle Designs and Cake Frame Ltd, and Claire Bowman from Cake Lace as well as a hamper of cake decorating goodies worth over £250, there were some great prizes up for grabs. We had a phenomenal response and sold almost 300 tickets, we matched the £300 we raised through the raffle, sending a total of £600 to the British Red Cross.
South Devon College - http://www.southdevon.ac.uk/
When the Hospitality students at South Devon College were challenged to make an edible wedding dress we donated supplies of Cake Lace to help. The project was a chance for cookery students to explore new mediums of edible art and use their creativity and knowledge to create a full scale edible dress. The finished dress was so incredible that a model even wore the dress for a professional photoshoot! Well done to all of the talented students from South Devon College who were involved in the project.
Team Verrico - http://www.teamverrico.org/
In July 2015 we placed an eBay bid for an Ugly Yellow Handbag, winning the handbag with our £1,090 bid. This was no ordinary handbag, it wasn't a designer brand, just exceptionally ugly. Yet this ugly handbag has done great things, repeatedly being auctioned online to raise money for charity. We decided to bid on the bag when we heard its story on the radio and how it was being auctioned to raise money for Team Verrico. Team Verrico is a cancer charity based in Doncaster whose aim is to fund further lifesaving cancer research and support those affected by cancer and their families. After we heard about Team Verrico’s work, we knew we had to win the bag!
We sent the Ugly Yellow Handbag on a UK Tour stopping off at gyms, hair salons, television stations, supermarkets, football stadiums, pubs and tearooms to fundraise for Team Verrico. We’d like to thank everyone who hosted the bag or donated. We also set up a Just Giving page and sold Ugly Yellow Handbag Cupcake Toppers with all profits going to Team Verrico. After a month fundraising with the Ugly Yellow Handbag, it was put back on eBay and raised an incredible £1,752.00 at auction. In total, including our bid on the Ugly Yellow Handbag, fundraising activities and its auction on eBay, we have raised over £6,500 for Team Verrico.
