Recipe for the cookies
You can absolutely work with pre-baked chocolate cookies for this tutorial to save time! However, if you do want to make your own, we LOVE this recipe for a triple chocolate cookie by @_poppycarr on TikTok!
This recipe creates five rich chocolate cookies, with both white and milk chocolate chunks. It's the perfect base for our reindeer treats, and a recipe we'll definitely be coming back to again.
How to decorate reindeer cookies for Christmas!
- Put your cookies to the side to let them cool, and start working on your antlers! Use your FunCakes Choco Writer to create two V shapes on a piece of parchment paper, one above the other, and join them together with a line through the middle. Repeat until you've made enough for your cookies and pop them in the fridge to set.
- While your antlers are setting, take your buttercream and spread a heaped spoonful across each of your cookies with your spatula.
- Place another piece of parchment paper/baking paper onto a plate or tray and press your cookies upside down onto the paper. Pop them into the fridge to to let the buttercream harden.
- After about 30 minutes, take your cookies and antlers out of the fridge. Peel your antlers away from the baking paper and press them into the buttercream.
- Place two candy eyeballs underneath the antlers for the eyes, and a small red pearl sprinkle for that iconic Rudolph nose!
- Next, take a white or silver lustre dust on a food-safe brush and gently tap it over each of the cookies for some sparkly festive flair.
- Finally, pop your cookies into your cupcake or treat boxes with some food safe shredded paper, and finish with a decorative ribbon for the perfect Christmas gift!
