When it comes to making the perfect cupcakes, getting your frosting right is a key part of the process! And, especially if you're short on time, that isn't always easy. From getting the texture right to finding the right colour, the topping can make or break your masterpieces! And that's where Over the Top Buttercream comes in.

Over the Top Buttercream is ready-to-use - simply open the tub and get decorating! No prep required, no measurements or risk of missing ingredients in your fridge! It's good to go right away.
And the good news is that once opened, it will keep in the refrigerator for 3 months and the freezer for 6 months (just make sure it is sealed!). This means you don't have to worry about waste if you're opening it to fill or decorate a small batch.
Perfect for Colourful Cupcakes
The Over the Top Buttercream range includes 14 beautiful colours, from pastels to brights! This is absolutely perfect for quickly creating your most colourful cupcakes ever. For the beauties above, the talented Sarah at @by.sarahteresa used the pastel green, pastel pink and pastel blue.
This is an amazing time saver - no need to add food colouring a drip at a time until you reach the right shade! You can get straight to the piping, readying your cupcakes for the final decorations.

And lastly, one of your most important considerations when it comes to perfecting your cupcakes is the flavour! Finding the right flavour to compliment your cupcakes can make all the difference.
The majority of the Over the Top Buttercream colours have a classic vanilla flavour, meaning they will pair nicely with most cake flavours! It also means it is ideal for adding your own flavouring to.
In addition to vanilla, this buttercream also comes in Caramel flavour (a beautiful caramel coloured shade!) or a classic rich brown with a chocolate flavour! Check out the chocolate version added to this traybake - so dreamy!
How to achieve your perfect cupcakes!
Now you know why and when to use Over the Top, here's how to use it!
- Grab your baked and cooled cupcakes (either bake yourself using your own recipe, one of our cake mixes or buy pre-made)
- Choose your piping nozzles! Either use one shape for the entire top of the cupcake for a beautiful, consistent swirl, or mix and match with a different tip for each colour. Snip the end off your piping bags and place your piping tips inside.
- Fill your piping bag or bags with your chosen Over the Top Buttercream, either as is or with your favourite colouring or flavouring fully mixed in.
- Pipe onto your cupcakes to create your desired design - practice makes perfect here if you're new to it. Add any sprinkles or toppers to finish them off!
- If the cupcakes are for you, you're done - enjoy! But if they're a gift or a customer order, box them up in a cute cupcake box for the perfect presentation.
