Make Your Festive Bakes in Your Signature Style
• Lynsey Macdonald
It can be so easy to get caught up in trends when it comes to Christmas baking. But we love nothing more than seeing you make your festive bakes in your signature style! One product can be used so many different ways, and we tasked some of our cakey friends to show how true this is...
We gave the iconic Wilton Christmas Tree Cake tin to four cake pros and each designed something totally different with it. From differing flavours to contrasting colour palettes, this was such a fun project. We hope seeing how uniquely they all turned out inspires you to make your own!
Classic Christmas Vibes from @acakeonlife

The amazing Vicki at @acakeonlife channelled classic Christmas for her design, and we couldn't love it more! Nothing says Christmas like green, red and gold.
Vicki used Fractal Colors FullFill gel colour in Grass Green to colour the beautifully piped buttercream on her cake. Then she used the brilliant modelling paste from THE SUGARPASTE to create the super cute tree decorations and parcels - again, coloured using the FullFill gels in Grass Green and Vivid Red, or painted using Sweet Sticks Edible Metallic Paint in Glamorous Gold.
Vicki then used the FunCakes Jolly Sprinkle Medley and Sweet Sticks Gold Glitter Stars for the perfect finishing touches to one of our favourite festive bakes.
Pastel Pink Perfection from @yoras.cakes

This beautiful pink colour palette is giving us sweet, sugar plum fairy vibes - and we are very happy about it!
This design by Judit at @yoras.cakes puts a modern twist on a classic design. She piped varying shaped swirls of buttercream across the cake, using four beautiful oil based colours from Colour Mill - Red, Baby Pink, Clay and Tiffany. The tiniest amount of Tiffany adds that almost silver/blue glint to the white buttercream!
Finished off with pearl sprinkles, edible snowflakes and the beautiful Magic Colours Bling Bling edible glitter in Gold. Festive bakes don't get dreamier than this!
A Festive Showstopper by @sweetgeebakes

Oh are we obsessed with this! The talented Grace from @sweetgeebakes used the Wilton tin to bake two Christmas tree sponges. She sliced off the trunk section at the bottom and joined the two cakes together to create this showstopper!
Grace covered her cake with a layer of buttercream and then piped these beautiful, Lambeth-style frill borders. She then piped intricate Christmas tree lights, and added 3D shiny baubles using the FunCakes Sugar Crystals - a genius idea!
And, not to let anything be wasted, Grace used the leftover sponge from the trunk to create a festive parcel to sit under the tree.
You can check out the whole process of making this beauty in this video here.
A Chocolate Lover's Dream by @4cake_sake

And finally, Jess from @4cake_sake went with a crowd pleaser no matter the season - a delicious chocolate cake!
This is what we loved about this challenge - each person took that same cake tin and yet their festive bakes all turned out so different! Jess piped indulgent, rich chocolate buttercream in a uniform pattern across the top of the cake.
Then, she added large, shiny chocolate ball sprinkles in traditional reds and golds to create the baubles.
We hope this post has inspired you to add your own signature style to your festive bakes! Whether that's a modern vibes, classic colours or unexpected toppings, with our product collection you can make any cake your own.
