Rounding up the Best Bakes from our Showstopper Competition!

We asked, and you delivered! Our judges had their work cut out as they looked through all your wonderful Showstopper competition entries. From birthday bakes to wedding cakes, one thing is for sure; the talent in our community is out of this world!
Behind the scenes, we whittled it down to a top twelve. It was then put to a vote to find our top three, and our eventual winner. This was no easy feat for our judges!
Before we dive in, we want to say a MASSIVE thank you to every single person who entered. We were thrilled to see each email pop in and each new post appear on the hashtag. Sharing your cakey projects with the world is a gift and scrolling through your creations is one of our favourite things to do!
We had over 200 entries, and our original plan was to narrow it down to a top ten - but that was too hard! So please know, the competition was fierce.
Without further ado, let's reveal our winners and runners up!
1st Prize: Dee Lewis
This woodland themed 80th birthday cake by Dee Lewis absolutely blew us away! From the wood texture to the autumnal leaves, toadstools and adorable animals, it is absolutely stunning. Across the board, our team agreed it was the perfect choice to take home 1st prize!
Dee has won 2 tickets to Cake International and an opportunity to have this beautiful cake displayed in The Cake Decorating Company Village! The prize also includes a baking bundle worth £100 and a £20 voucher to spend in our online shop.
Congratulations Dee! So well deserved, it really is a showstopper.
2nd Prize: Emma Johnson
In second place, we have this fantastic beach themed 3rd birthday cake by the talented Emma Johnson!
Our judges were obsessed with the realistic sand texture on this one - isn't it amazing? Not to mention those adorable, brightly coloured sea creatures! Add to that the eye-catching ocean effect and Emma hit on a winning combination.
Second prize is a brilliant Baking Bundle worth £50 and a £20 voucher to spend in our online store.
Well done, Emma! This cake really is beautiful.
3rd Prize: Lauren Axtell
And in third place, we all fell in love with this little guy! Lauren Axtell created this sensational tortoise cake and it captured the hearts of everyone on our team.
The detail on this cake is absolutely incredible; we couldn't stop talking about it. Such intricate work on the shell and across the face!
3rd prize is a £20 voucher to spend at our online store, to help stock up for your next cakey masterpiece!

It was amazing to see the wide range of creativity here – from beautiful, elegant wedding creations (see Laura’s black and gold cake) to incredible sculpted designs (like Liz’s amazing snail cake!) and pop culture references (love the Mamma Mia design, Karen!). You really all did send us your own definition of a showstopper and we had so much fun looking through them.
So that's it, for our first ever Showstopper competition! We hope to bring it back next year, and it's never too early to get planning your next entry...
